Well. It’s a New Year and I still have no idea what to do with this blog. Maybe it’ll be a good place to to rant life in general and stuff I just like that’s not gaming related. Heck. I don’t even know people notice this thing any more. So yeah. New Year. Time to make this thing interesting again. We’ll see how far I get.
So that’s what I’m going to be doing with the old blog. Just not as often as I have in the past. I figure there should be at least one thing about the life and the world that catches my attention that I can rant about each week. Not serious rants mind, those crazy and hopefully funny rants that come to my mind.
Since this is the Internet, I figured I’d start with conflict. Remember, when the Internet was billed as the great thing that will bring people together in an exchange of ideas? Yeah, well. It still does do that occasionally. But what we hear about most of the time is the silly flame wars and hashtag activism.
One of the philosophies I’ve adopted in life is “Never fight a battle you don’t have to win”. On the web, that means don’t engage in debates that are pointless. There’s plenty of people out there who aren’t interested in discussion. They aren’t interested in facts or logic. Portions of your argument will be taken out of context and used against by an virtual lynch mob. So no. It’s just not worth it.
Wow. That is kind of downer. Not exactly the fun filled post that I thought it would be. But this is how keep from smashing my head into my keyboard and let’s me enjoy the other and more important things in life.
New year, new attitude, and so many new plans.
As I’ve mentioned before, things are changing not only in the mundane life sense but here on the good old blogs. This’ll be the last time I announce this part. If you’re following here for gaming stuff, you’ll need to redirect your attention over to the other blog, They Might Be Gazebos. That’s where I’ll be posting all of my RPG rants from now on.
What does that mean for this blog? Well, it’s going to go back to what it was originally meant to be. Me ranting about whatever. Life, stuff, other hobbies and interests, and if I really get riled up there might be a political or other touchy subjects that show up.
So there you go. Like I said, new year, new attitude, and changes. Oh so many changes. Hang on. Things will get interesting and I’m hoping in a good way.
Well, it’s the New Year. Again. I keep saying cheer up. Next year will be better.
Guess what? It hasn’t been. Real life hasn’t the greatest. So here I am again saying, “This year will be better!” Really. It has to be.
Yeah, I know. It’s a short rant. But what can I say? It’s a holiday and there’s so much around the corner. Hope it’s good stuff. We shall see. That’s we shall see.
It’s December and I’m really behind on doing those normal things I do every year. Like this post. It’s time for reflection. Cleaning out the archives. And little deep thought. So much has gone on in my life this year and next years probably isn’t going to be any different. There’s been good stuff and bad stuff. But this about the old blogs.
First and foremost. I won’t be posting any more RPG stuff on this blog. All of it will posted over at They Might Be Gazebos. That leaves me with a big question. What to do with this blog? I could just let it linger and fade away. Or I could focus more on life stuff and rants about the huge bucket of suck that seems to happen every day. I don’t like doing angry rants. I may feel better for a while but then it boils down into some sort of flame war/blame game/Internet lynch mob. There’s plenty of other things to rant about but let’s face it with social media, why post a rant at all? So I don’t know. Got a few weeks to think. So who knows? Maybe I will come up with something. That is between all the holiday crap and basically hitting control-alt-delete on my life in general. That probably means that 2016 is going to be interesting.
Stay tuned. I’m sure I’ll post another rant here about something soon.
