When we last left our heroes, they had just gotten away from a Black Court ambush at the post game victory party. They debated what to do next, either go after the White Court heir apparent and frat boy douche bag, Caspar Van Der Hausen III or deal with their little problem with the Summer Court. They decided to try to help Caspar.
There were plenty of witnesses to the abduction and the news media was already on the story. They knew the police and probably the FBI were already involved. They decided to use means that normally aren’t available for the mundane authorities. Artie begins creating a tracking ritual to find out where Casapr is. The Dude gets drafted to go the only other person they know (besides Caspar’s mother who is being hounded by the press) how might have something they could use for the spell. Sissy The Knight of the Chaos was formerly Caspar’s favorite carnal snack. The Dude learns that since Sissy became a Knight, she know understands what Caspar was doing to her and she isn’t taking well. After a little convincing, she gives him a poorly crafted voodoo doll made with one of Caspar’s toothbrushes. The Dude gets even more worried about his stalker after talking to her again.
The spell leads them to the North End, known for it’s mobile home parks and meth labs. The party decides to go during the day because A) They don’t want to waste time. B) They know that Black Court vampires have problems with sunlight. They find the trailer where they think that Caspar is being held. Most of the trailers have beat up cars, cars too good for this neighborhood or motorcycles parked in front of them. One thing that most have in common is that they very large and very mean dogs chained up next to them. Artie decides that he wants to do a veil to conceal the group just from dogs. He sends in the Dude to get some dog hair or poop to help with the spell. Needless to say that the Dude’s luck runs out and he gets spotted by one of the locals who mistakes him for the creepy boyfriend of this daughter. The Dude runs away but his “What has been seen cannot be unseen” Aspect gets compelled. The altercation draws the attention of the kidnappers.
As the group approaches the trailer, three expensive motorcycles start speeding away. Artie lays down a force wall and knocks two of the drivers down and third continues. Alex Wolfe (in jumbo wolf-form) chases after the third rider. They quickly learn that aren’t facing Black Court vampires or even Renfields but White Court vampires. Artie and the Dude manage to hold their own and win the fight. One White Court vampire escapes by shoving his partner into the player characters. The other manages to escape as well but ends dropping “A Clue”. (This was an affect of the vampire conceding. He dropped a clue to what is going on and the PC’s got to determine what it was when they wanted a clue.)
While that fight was going on, Alex continued to chase the third rider and finally catches him. Another fight ensues and the learn that the third rider is Caspar. Alex is even more dismayed when he learns that Caspar has armed himself with a silver knife (Alex’s Catch). The fight continues until the police arrive. Caspar immediately shouts to the police, “Help me, this rabid dog is attacking me.” Alex is torn. He never runs from a fight but he also knows that if he stays there’s a very good chance that mortal cops are the ones who will really get hurt. He decides to retreat. The party regroups and tries to set up a meeting with Caspar’s mother, Lydia Van Der Hausen.
The meeting ends up being at Le Club Mystique. As the group enters the club, the Dude asks, “What kind of club is this?” Answer, “The doorman hands you a mask and a condom.” They get escorted to a private room in back. The room is nicely furnished and they see the bank of video monitors covering the entire club. Lydia enters via a concealed door. Despite Artie brewing up an anti-horny potion, Lydia manages to get the Dude’s motor running (He later calls up Whisper and you know the rest.) With the clue they have and little discussion, they learn of Caspar’s plan. Get his mother into a shooting war with the Black Court then betray her at a strategic moment. Lydia falls as head of the White Court, Caspar takes over and declares peace between the White and Black Courts. Lydia discreetly asks the group for help in dealing with her matricidal offspring but they decline, not wanting to get involved in vampire politics. Lydia’s response was a concealed threat and “We’ll see about that.” type attitude. The meeting ends and the players make note that there has been no news of Caspar’s escape/rescue. The jerk is still on the loose somewhere in the city.
The group then decides to follow up on trying to find the plant that they stole from the Summer Court. Artie took some of the leaves (for later research and experimentation) and does another tracking spell. This time the trail leads to Harker Island. Home of the local Winter Court envoy (MacGuffin the Red Cap). Harker Island where bad things happen. Home to haunted lighthouse and an abandoned prison/asylum. But still a state historical park with day tours. No is allowed to stay over night but that doesn’t stop folks from sailing out there on their own) The party joins one of the tour groups and heads off to the island.
The party slips away from the tour group and break into the prison/asylum. MacGuffin immediately starts messing with them using glamors to get them lost in the building and get them just a little unnerved by things scampering about in the shadows. There is a bit arguing and yelling at the elusive Red Cap. MacGuffin finally agrees to a riddle contest with Artie. If the wizard wins, he gets the plant and the Dude gets left alone by the Red Cap. If the wizard loses, the Red Cap gets the Dude (who he plans on skinning.) The Dude isn’t too keen with the plan but Artie assures him that it’ll be OK. Artie barely manages to win the contest. The Red Cap is infuriated. He removes the glamor from the plant and screams out, “That mortal is safe but there are others on my island!”
The party runs back to the dock to find the tour boat’s pilot murdered, the radio smashed and the engine sabotaged (plus it’s sinking). Until someone notices they are missing, they are trapped on an island with a group of mortal tourists and a very angry and very psychotic fairy.
Here endeth the session. Yeah, a little bit of a cliffhanger there.
