When we last left our heroes, things were getting very interesting in a very bad way. The local news was reporting the scandal of the college football start and the nun. Also, two dozen dead bodies were found burned to a crisp in a drug lab.
Since we were short a player (Alex the Werewolf and football start mentioned above), we moved on with the other plot thread. Dean Jormungand (Artie’s master) took the news of the crispy corpse and head off to Edinborough to inform the White Council that Whisper (The local Warden’s apprentice & The Dude’s girlfirend) had broken the First Law. After a quick meeting with Warden Lake, the party sets out to find some proof of Whisper’s innocence and the Warden heads of to Scotland to see what the Dean is up to. Before she leaves the Warden confides in the player characters and informs that one of her missions in town is to specifically keep an eye on Dean Jormungand.
The party sets out to see what they can dig up. They started off with getting Jack Russel (the lycanthrope gang leader) out of the hospital. Last session they had left broken and bleeding in bad part of town. Artie and Whisper whip up a disguise spell for the Dude and send him in. The Dude gets through the hospital without a problem until he gets to Russel’s room. The gang leader is in a body cast. Artie had done a real number on the guy last session (Extreme Consequence). The Dude shrugs and hauls the guy out on a gurney. They dump him in the back of the Dude’s car and head off to store him (again) at Sister Maria’s warehouse. They also decide that it would be a good idea to get the autopsy reports for the dead bodies at the drug lab. They send the Dude get them from the city morgue before his disguise spell wears off. After a quick reading of the reports, they easily figured out that the civtims were dead before they were burned as well as exsanguinated.
This helped confirm their theory that the crazy powerful Red Court vampire was behind the murder spree. They remembered that they had met a couple of low level Red Courts a while back and agreed to left them go in return for a favor later on. So they give Kristi and Klaire a quick call and set up a meeting at Dr. Fu’s Tea House at sundown.
During the afternoon, they time to search through Dean Jormungand’s office. Artie and Whisper find a book written in some sort of encrypted shorthand. They send to Dude to the library to get some photocopies. Of course, Sissy The Knight of the Equinox shows up to continue her stalking of The Dude. She plants a kiss on his cheek with lip stick smudge that just won’t come off thanks to fairy magic plus she makes the photocopier go haywire and starts a fire. The Dude manages to keep the book from getting burned but it is singed a little. Artie does his best to magically repair the book.
Just before sundown they head to Dr Fu’s to meet Marquessa Sanchez and some Red Court flunkies. The meeting at Dr. Fu’s doesn’t go that well. Sister Maris interrupts the meeting thanks to a misinterpreted message. The Maquessa is pretty much an Old World Pshycho and doesn’t deal with underlings or commoners. And a second meeting is scheduled later that evening in the Park.
Warden Lake returns and goes over the information that the player characters managed to find. She nods and thinks there should be enough to put Whisper in the clear with the White Council.
At the Park, things go a little a better. The Warden talks to the Marquessa while the party talks to the local Red Court Vampires, Josh and Jill Jennings. They find out that Josh and Jill are in an arranged marriage and their job is to further the power of the Red Court in the city. Jill called in her mother (The Marquessa) because she thought that Josh wasn’t doing a good enough job. The meeting and the session comes to an end. And the Dude continues to work his social magic. Ending putting a social consequence on Jill Jennings. Ah, the Dude and women.
So that’s sort a quick and dirty bunch of notes on what happened last week. Crap I didn’t even bother to proof read this.
