One of the fun things things about gaming is how sometimes things just happen spontaneously. Just one little comment can lead to a whole new bit of lore. Such is the case with the Skull Fairy.
Just like any other parents, orcs want to instill certain virtues in their children. As orc children play and frolic in various fields, caves and dungeons they bring back little trophies. The skulls of various small animals and vermin like gnomes and halflings. The parents tell their children to put the skulls under their pillows and if they’ve been good (at least in good in orc terms) then the skull fairy will visit them while they sleep. The skull fairy will take the skull and leave a few coppers for the child.
Now eat your grubs or the skull fairy won’t visit you. Ain’t orc child rearing cool?
