There’s a really good post over at RPG Musings on Gender and RPG’s. I was going to post this clip next week but decided to move it up and add another.
First by digging through the bowels of youtube I found this little mini documentary about a D&D group consisting of a male DM and his all female players. And guess what? Girls play D&D.

And as is normal take, I can’t do something without throwing some sort of joke in there. So if you’ve never seen Gamers: Dorkness Rising. GO BUY IT AND WATCH IT! If you haven’t then go ahead and watch this clip about how NOT to treat a woman at the gaming table. The real juicy bits start at about 1:40.

Last summer I started an all girl group (myself excluded) of D&D novices and they were all sad when we had to wrap for the year. The girls who were still around folded into my new group and went toe-to-toe no problem with the male players. And we plan on picking up where we left off last year this upcoming summer.
