You do it video games and there’s always somebody for table tables that picks up every damned thing just in cast they might need it later on. Yeah, I know it’s worse in video games because some tricky writer thinks it’s cool for every adventurer also to have some sort of mundane profession to fall back on. Or even worse, you need 27 mushrooms to beat the boss monsters.
Remember adventurers should be be hoarders or shop keepers. Just go out and kill monsters and take their stuff.
