I admit that for along I really didn’t care about FATE. I looked at the Spirit of the Century stuff and scanned through the SRD and thought meh.
But then came the Dresden Files RPG. If you’ve been here more than a couple of times then you know I’m big Jim Butcher and urban fantasy fan. So I had to just get the game. That’s when the little FATE light bulb went off in my head and I got it.
Now enter another of my favorite genres. The classic spy adventures of the 60′s and the Agents of S.W.I.N.G. by Postmortem Studios. Another FATE game which I yakked about last week. Over the weekend there was this little epiphany. Hey. Why not take two of my favorite things and combine them! You know like chocolate and peanut butter or bacon and just about anything else. One of the best things about FATE games is that it’s virtually effortless to kit bash two different settings and get what you want.
Globetrotting supernatural secret agents saving the world from insane mystical plots. This idea hasn’t really gone farther than just an spark in the back of my mind. And yes I know about Agents of Oblivion from Reality Blurs. But it’s time to sit back and this little gem brew in the back of my mind and see what happens.
